Why attend?

Green hydrogen is a game-changer for the heavy-duty transport sector, offering solutions for energy balancing, storage and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. However, the sector still faces significant challenges in production, usage, transportation, distribution and cost. This event will address these challenges head-on, exploring strategies to scale up hydrogen fueling infrastructure and green hydrogen production through advanced electrolysis technologies.

Key event topics:

  • Hydrogen supply and demand chain: Understanding the dynamics and optimising the flow from production to end-use
  • Effective regulation and safety: Ensuring robust policies and safety standards to foster public trust and acceptance
  • Public and private investments: Highlighting the importance of investments in infrastructure, technology and human capital to drive innovation and market growth
  • Cost competitiveness for heavy-duty vehicles: Discussion of policies, subsidies and economies of scale to reduce costs and boost demand
  • Hydrogen infrastructure: Strategizing the geographic placement of refuelling stations for optimal accessibility and efficiency in a sustainable hydrogen-powered transport system

Interactive panel discussions and speakers:

Our event will be moderated by Ioannis Moraitis, Director of Coordination of Hydrogen Europe. The interactive panel discussion contains speakers from diverse geographical and professional backgrounds:

  • Els de Wit has extensive experience in Brussels through the Dutch ministry. She can address the national subsidy for hydrogen vehicles and refueling stations.
  • Aivars Starikovs is a board member of Hydrogen Europe and head of the Latvian Hydrogen Association. He will share insights on the JIVE H2 bus roadshows.
  • Julie Jo Nygaard is project manager at STRING, a cross-border political collaboration in Northern Europe, working to align policies and strengthen cooperation in support of the hydrogen sector.
  • André Beukers of E-Trucks Europe H2 brings the perspective of hydrogen vehicle manufacturers.
  • Nikolaos Ntavos, co-founder and manager of CluBE, brings expertise at the EU level through GreenSkills4H2, Hy2Market, LIFE GREENH2ORN and serves as national correspondent at the EU Hydrogen Observatory.
  • Daniel Bakker is an energy and water researcher at KWR Water Research, a leading institute with international collaborations. He is also project manager of LIFE NEW HYTS.
